Behavior Models

What are acceptable Behaviors for Horizontal vs Vertical environments?

-S@ v. 2021

Individuals will experience various Behaviors Models in all of their relationships during a single lifetime. Not just in pursuit of a career, either, but in their families and communities, as well. To help, a map of behaviors is a good idea but where does one begin? There are so many behaviors and two models!

This next work of Sandy Flowers offers a framework for conversations on behaviors by giving several lists for various situations. There are options on roll out. The first

The Horizontal Framework of behaviors is built around the research of Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett and incorporates the work of Tema Okun’s White Supremacy Culture in the list of Self-Preserving Behaviors. The other behaviors were chosen to balance Okun’s original labels during two informal study group sessions with peers. All of these descriptive words may be modified; some are minor variations on the same theme.

BUT WAIT!!! There’s more!

What are acceptable Vertical behaviors?

Vertical models are more common with the educational disparity that naturally comes with being born. It’s a common understanding that children need structure in order to learn, but what does that look like exactly? How much control is needed and what do some behaviors infer about each status?

Once discussed, it becomes easier to map out best practices for Vertical Environments with plans on how each will support graduation into the Horizontal Realm.

These templates are crucial tools for teams doing community building, from families to business. There is still work to be done in the inclusive co-creation sphere but that’s another nuisanced conversation.

What the First Image of Electromagnetism Reveals About Hidden Geometries

In 2015, a team of researchers led by Fabrizio Pizzazz and colleagues captured what is now considered the first direct visual image of an electromagnetic field. For many people, the image looked like a shimmering wave—an elegant interference pattern or a cloud of ripples frozen in time. But for those studying the geometric foundations of…
